The changing seasons means the return of two of Spring’s favorite drinking holidays! Both Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby fall on Saturday, May 5th, meaning you may be on the lookout for any and all Cinco de Derby parties. To save you the trouble, we’ve rounded up a few options for the tequila fans, the bourbon drinkers, and the folks who just can’t decide.

As if the Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo aren’t reason enough to celebrate, Refinery Rooftop is adding a third layer to the May 5 party — their fifth anniversary! To celebrate 5 years, Refinery Rooftop and The Refinery Hotel are hosting their Annual Derby Party, complete with parties throughout the whole hotel.

Guests can choose to indulge in cocktails in Winnie’s Jazz Bar, enjoy the raw bar at Refinery Rooftop, or take advantage of the four-hour open bar bouncing between each party. There will also be a secret Margarita Speakeasy hidden within the hotel that will be accessible only to those in the know! Tickets are just $125 and can be purchased here.

Boulton & Watt5 Avenue A

In the East Village, Boulton & Watt is rolling out the green carpet for a day of Derby drinking and an evening Cinco fiesta. The bar will be transformed into a ​makeshift Churchill Downs, complete with artificial turf, inflatable horses, and derby duds. Hudson will be shaking up four specialty cocktails from 3pm on and there will be a bar tab awarded to the best hat in the house! After the races, guests can stay to enjoy $5 Modelos, $5 shots of Altos Tequila, and a menu of Cinco de Snackos. Reservations can be made by calling (646)490–6004.

Park Avenue Tavern will be focused solely on Cinco de Mayo this year. Tequila priorities! In celebration of the 5th of May, they’ll be pairing their classic Mezcal Margarita (Cortez Mezcal, Cointreau, Lime, Agave) with a one-day-only Park Burger Tacos.
