Chêne Bleu, a new winery situated on an ancient site in the up-and-coming Mont Ventoux wine region of Southern France, has produced award-winning wines and achieved acclaim in a very short time frame. Héloïse, one of Chêne Bleu’s flagship red wines, is an elegant and refined Syrah-based blend (65%) with one third Grenache and a touch of white — Viognier or Roussanne depending upon the vintage — in the spirit of the cooler Northern Rhone, like a Côte Rôtie, but with her own identity. In 1987, was when the first vintage of a wine styled after the famous First Growth producers of Bordeaux, created with the same uncompromising care as the Grands Vins of those venerable chateaux. For more than 25 vintages, ISOSCELES has been the flagship wine and quality benchmark for this style of wine here on the Central Coast of California. A blend based on Cabernet Sauvignon supported by Cabernet Franc and Merlot, the 2017 ISOSCELES shows why Paso Robles is such a great place to grow these varieties.

“Pinot Noir, a traditional favorite at Thanksgiving, shows well with autumn flavors like roasted vegetables. The slightly savory, earthy finish makes it a natural fit with herbs like rosemary and sage found in so many stuffing recipes. To me the best pairing trick is all of the cranberry notes present in the wine: just as our palates love zesty, tangy cranberry sauce to balance the richness of turkey drumsticks with gravy, this Pinot Noir can offer that same taste sensation.” Sarah Tracey, Sommelier and Founder of The Lush Life

Tasting Notes: Luscious loganberry, Bing cherry and rising bread dough waft forth with a pleasing hint of caramel and aromatic sandalwood. The smooth, weighty palate offers cherry candy, pomegranate, candied orange peel and a touch of anise concluding with a nicely uplifting finish.
