The Lookup officially opens in Midtown Manhattan
Today marks the official opening of Manhattan’s newest rooftop property — The Lookup — located atop the soon-to-be Kixby hotel in Midtown. The indoor-outdoor rooftop property is the newest concept from Chris Barish and wife Julie Mulligan of Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer, the international restaurant sensation world famous CrazyShake™ milkshakes and was created to provide a destination for guests to “look up” from their phones and be in the moment.
Designed by the award-winning architecture and design firm Rockwell Group, the 2,200-square-foot space is divided into three zones with stadium seating, high-top tables and lounge areas — all anchored by a central peninsula bar for lively afternoons and memorable nights. (approx. 65 seats outdoors / approx. 50 seats indoors)
The beverage program led by Pioneer Mixologist Pamela Wiznitzer (formerly of Seamstress, The Dead Rabbit, among others) showcases fun and original cocktails such as: a riff on a Whisky Smash with boozy sorbet, a spa-like watermelon drink, a Margarita-Paloma blend, among others. Instead of having catchy phrases, the cocktails are ‘named’ numerically to allow the sippers to have their own identity. ($16)
The Lookup also offers a culinary menu of elevated bar food items including unique dips like Whipped Green Chile Beer Cheese and Sriracha Carrot Hummus, seasoned popcorn such as Truffle Parmesan and Caramel & Black Pepper , Rosé infused Meyer Lemon Shrimp Cocktail, Pressed Bar Sandwiches with vegetarian options, in addition to rotating desserts such as Dippin’ Dots, among others.
