The Kimpton Ink48 Hotel is always a good idea for a Staycation, where pampering exceeds expectations at all levels, especially if guests make use of the Kimpton’s in-room yoga mats, complimentary PUBLIC-branded bikes, the hotel’s own Runner’s Amenity Kit, Wellness Wiz and eco-conscious InkSpa.

These amenities are the perfect things for couples to particularly take advantage of stunning views of the Hudson River or to enjoy the picturesque atmosphere of the rooftop, The Press Lounge.

In a former printing house, the aptly named Ink48 opened in 2009 with a subtle nod to its past: The PRINT Restaurant, Press Lounge, and various font-themed floors all play off the same motif.

The David Rockwell–designed Kimpton hotel has a contemporary look, punctuated by midcentury modern furnishings, a graphic floral motif and zany carpeting. Hallways are lined with glossy photographs of the New York skyline — but do yourself a favor and witness it in person from the 17th floor.

While Ink48’s 11th Ave location means you’re removed from Times Square or downtown’s shopping scene, there’s no dearth of activity nearby. Take advantage of the hotel’s proximity to the Hudson with a stroll (or bike ride) along the river, in the adjacent Hudson River Park, which extends all the way down to Battery Park City. History buffs will love the nearby Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum, famous for housing the eponymous WWII aircraft carrier at 46th street’s Pier 86.

Afterwards, grab a casual bite at Tehuitzingo, an unassuming Mexican deli known for making some of the best tacos in town. Wash it all down with craft brews at Pony Bar, and the next morning, don’t leave without stopping for a pastry at Sullivan Street Bakery (the chocolate almond croissant is a must).
