TAO Group Chefs Challenge for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Tao Group Hospitality and its charitable arm, Tao Group Hospitality Cares, announces its mission for October’s World Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Once again, for the entire month of October, all of Tao Group Hospitality’s restaurant brands nationwide, including TAO Uptown, TAO Downtown, LAVO, Bodega Negra, Vandal, Beauty & Essex, Legasea, Egghead, and Feroce in New York City; TAO, LAVO and Beauty & Essex in Las Vegas; TAO, Beauty & Essex, The Highlight Room and Luchini Pizzeria & Bar in Los Angeles; TAO in Chicago; as well as nightlife brands such as Avenue, Marquee, TAO Nightclub, LAVO Nightclub, PHD Rooftop Lounge, PHD Terrace, Magic Hour, and The Fleur Room, will raise money by donating 10% of proceeds from their #DRINKPINK campaign and specially created pink-themed food specials to the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
Tao Group Hospitality was a leading team in 2018 for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in New York and Chicago with 624 total walkers. For the first time in their 12 years of support for the American Cancer Society, Tao Group Hospitality is excited to be walking in each of their cities this year: New York, Chicago, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles.
“The opportunity to participate in company-wide fundraising efforts, specifically raising money for cancer research, has always been one of the proudest moments for our company,” said Tao Group Hospitality co-founder Jason Strauss. “Watching the New York team participate in and lead the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk every year has been an inspiration. We are excited to finally join the walk in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Our initial team feedback has created a company-wide buzz that rivals a new venue opening, and we’re thrilled to be walking together for such a great cause.”
Each restaurant will offer a special menu dedicated to supporting Breast Cancer research, with 10% of proceeds from all specials being donated to the American Cancer Society. Chef/Partner Ralph Scamardella and Chef/Partner Chris Santos challenged the chef team for each restaurant to create new specials that will help in Tao Group Hospitality’s fight against Breast Cancer.
