Spotted: James Whiteside & Laura Kim at Fleuriste St-Germain
Who doesn’t love a good pop-up? If so, you’ll be interested in hearing about the opening events of Fleuriste St-Germain, an enchanting pop-up flower shop cocktail bar that opened in NYC’s Soho neighborhood created by St-Germain elderflower liqueur in collaboration with Oscar De La Renta/ MONSE Fashion Designer Laura Kim and American Ballet Theater Dancer James Whiteside.
Designed to recreate the ethos of original French salons and spark reconnection and creativity through inspired conversations, special performances, beautiful bouquets, and creative cocktails, the space is open to New Yorkers from Friday, August 13 through Sunday, August 15 (12–6pm daily), where they can enjoy craft cocktails, floral bouquets to takeaway and half-hourly ballet performances inspired by collaborators Laura Kim and James Whiteside.
Highlights from the 2 evenings featuring fashion and creative insiders include:
Fashion Designer and Fleuriste St-Germain Creator Laura Kim being cheered on by her friends in attendance — the fashion set Tina Leung, Prabal Gurung, Philip Lim, and Ezra William. She lovingly referred to them as her “Slaysians” and paid homage to them as her ‘greatest inspiration’ when asked by James Whiteside during the rapid-fire Q&A. The feeling was obviously mutual as the crew reciprocated her love for them, sharing shots of themselves on their stories (imagery below).
Fashion Designer Prabal Gurung posing with his bouquet of flowers like Miss Congeniality and enjoying the evening with Laura’s signature Rose Spritz cocktail amongst the decadent floral installation.
A heartfelt, raw discussion between Laura Kim and James Whiteside during their discussion slash tete-a-tete on-stage with questions inspired by philosopher Marcel Proust, revealing plenty of off-the-cuff, irreverent personal and professional insights.
