One may think that when you go on vacation you are to relax, walk the beach or get a massage. Well think again, we recently went down to the Royalton Riviera in Cancun, Mexico to experience their new fitness and wellness program. Some people enjoy lounging poolside or on the beach and some people don’t want to miss a workout and thankfully the Royalton Riviera Cancun can accommodate everyone’s needs.

The new fitness programming at Royalton Luxury Resorts will now bring guests a variety of fitness and wellness classes, taught by professional and certified instructors. We had the chance to experience professional classes and water yoga from, George Kiriakou (Director of Sport & Fitness) and Belinda Kiriakou (Sport & Fitness Manager).

George is leading this brand new state-of-the-art fitness program that is combined with world-class fitness facilities at resorts in Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Saint Lucia. While, Belinda’s focus on strength training movements and yogic flows complement higher intensity workouts by providing quicker recovery and effective muscle building.

We honestly must say that we felt the burn courtesy of Royalton Fit! We experienced a small taste of the classes offered each week — from Boot Camp and Kickboxing to Zumba and Boga FITMAT Yoga (offered throughout the Caribbean and Mexico), George and Belinda have put a lot of thought into the program and Royalton Fit is dedicated to offering a premium health-promoting experience while on vacation.

In addition to the Royalton Fit program, we couldn’t help not falling in love with Royalton Riviera Cancun’s, modern rooms well-appointed with decadent soaking tubs and rain showers, balconies with gorgeous views and an overall property layout that feels luxe and expansive (with plenty of pools and lounge options in between), plus a friendly and gracious staff.

If you are looking for some fun off the resort, let us suggest that you take a an excursion to the cenotes, you can arrange via Nexus Tours. We had the chance to see cultural beauty the destination has to offer. From snorkeling with colorful fish to swimming through the natural caves on Mayan land, it’s easy to understand why Cancun is one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations.
