Oscar Viewing Parties At Mr. Purple, Osteria Morini, The VNYL & More

If you are unable to make it to Los Angeles and unable to make it to the ceremony there are some venues hosting viewing parties for the 90th Academy Awards ceremony, plus lots of delicious nominee-inspired cocktails that you can toast to the big winners with. Catch the Oscars at the hottest multi-level restaurant and bar in the East Village. The VNYL will be screening the awards, projected on two massive 36 ft. screens with surround sound. Sip on themed hand-crafted cocktails for a discounted $12 and enjoy complimentary popcorn (multiple flavors!)

The Roof at Viceroy Central Park

Catch the Oscars in style at The Roof at Viceroy Central Park, one of the most lavish rooftop bars in the city, enclosed during the colder season of course. Located in the heart of Midtown, The Roof overlooks Central Park and gives guests stunning views (and we aren’t talking about those red carpet looks) all while sipping on discounted $15 themed cocktails and munching on complimentary popcorn. They will also host the annual Pick the Winners Contest, where guests can make their Oscar predictions by filling out a ballot prior to the start of the awards ceremony and be entered for a chance win some great prizes!

The Rag Trader

Brand new Midtown hotspot, The Rag Trader, will be screening this year’s Academy Awards on a large projection screen in their main dining room. Swing by for cocktails, bites, and the potential to win much much more. The restaurant will be hosting an Oscar ballot competition costing $10 to participate and whoever guesses the most categories correctly will be going home with the full cash pot!

Osteria Morini

Osteria Morini will offer a late night happy hour to celebrate the Oscars this year. Located on the 15th floor of Hotel Indigo Lower East Side, Mr. Purple’s “Cabin in the Sky” Winter pop-up (open through March) will allow you to watch the Academy Awards among sweeping 360 degree views of Manhattan. Take in the funky winter lodge vibes — think purple deer heads and digital fireplaces — while enjoying complimentary popcorn and catching this year’s Oscars on their large projection screen. Discounted at $15, Mr. Purple is also offering a trio of goldesque drinks, all that give a nod to the golden age of Hollywood and/or symbolize the award itself.


Watch the biggest moment in film this year on Irvington’s huge projection screen in their main dining room. Located at the W Union Square, Irvington is offering up themed cocktails for a discounted $15 and complimentary popcorn for patrons coming to enjoy the big night in film.
