Natalie Portman & Danielle Fishel Karp Kicks Off CHLA’s Make March Matter Campaign
Yesterday, Natalie Portman (Academy Award-winning actress, director, producer, activist, and longtime CHLA supporter) and Danielle Fishel Karp (actress, director and CHLA patient parent) kicked off Children’s Hospital Los Angeles’ 5th Annual Make March Matter campaign — a month-long initiative that empowers local businesses to rally community participation to raise $2 million in March in support of children’s health in Los Angeles and the Coachella Valley.
Natalie spoke about her special connection to CHLA as a mother of two young children, “I’m so grateful to the kindness of every single person that works here and the incredible energy here that is putting children first and serving our entire community.”
Danielle spoke about her touching personal experience at CHLA where her son Adler was treated for Chylothorax, a rare lung condition. She expressed her gratitude to the CHLA staff saying, “We never once had to worry about Adler’s care while we were here and for that we are eternally grateful. Adler is now 8 ½ months old and he is an absolute joy.”
Natalie and Danielle joined on-stage the adorable young patients who served as the face of the Make March Matter campaign over the last four years — Kairi Ramirez, Pierce Kelly, Saylor Pierson, Elliott Fletcher, Grace Rose, Ella Annear, and Kennedy Lewis.
