Kixby Hotel Debuts Exclusive Partnership with Random House for Inaugural Book Club Series
The newly opened Kixby hotel, located in Manhattan’s trending Midtown neighborhood, today announced an exclusive partnership with Random House Book Club (RHBC) to launch its inaugural Happy Hour, a new monthly series to mix and mingle with fellow book lovers and discuss the latest book club pick.
The series will debut on Wednesday, February 26th at Lot 15, the newest cocktail lounge that reimagines old-world New York with inventive cocktails and delicious fare, located inside Kixby. Brimming with passion, charisma, and heartbreak, Daisy Jones & The Six is a novel about the whirlwind rise of an iconic 1970s rock group (think Fleetwood Mac vibes), their lead singer, and their mysterious breakup at the height of their fame. Participants will have the chance to discuss the book before it hits the small screen as an Amazon TV show.
“As a book club fanatic, I’m thrilled to have Daisy Jones & The Six chosen as the first book in this exciting new series at the Kixby,” noted Taylor Jenkins Reid, acclaimed author of Daisy Jones & The Six.
“We are constantly looking for ways to intertwine Kixby with the local community through meaningful programming,” said Justin Arest, Co-Owner and Managing Partner of Kixby. “Nothing connects people like conversation over a good story which is why we were so excited to work with the Random House team to hold their monthly Book Club Happy Hour series at our property.”
The series spans a wide range of genres, from thrillers to romance novels and everything in between. The diversified lineup allows for participants to read books that they may not have considered, inviting them to be part of a larger community to discuss narratives and themes. Each meeting will be hosted by either the author of the featured book or a thoughtfully selected influencer.
“We’re excited to draw readers and books together with our newly launched Random House Book Club program. The fact that we can host this event in such a unique, fun space highlights the sense of community our events program strives for. Our hope is to foster a sense of community where book lovers of all backgrounds can experience deep connection and conversation that only stories can inspire, because stories are better shared.” said Katie Darcy, Events Manager from Random House.
Tickets to each meeting are $35 and include a signed trade paperback edition of the book (sent to participants before the meeting), two drink tickets, hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Guests of Kixby can receive a 10% discount on tickets by using the code KixGuest at checkout.
