Inside The WE RISE: Rally With Common, Ty Dolla $ign & The Black Eyed Peas
This past Saturday, Common, Ty Dolla $ign, Black Eyed Peas, Raja Kumari, Los Rakas, GFBF, Las Cafeteras, & Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students, Jammal Lemy & Matt Deitsch came together to kick-off WE RISE — a 10 Day Pop Up exhibit dedicated to sparking a movement for change in the mental health system — at a Rally in Downtown LA on May 19, 2018.
The artists and activists shared bold and powerful messages calling for mental health as a civil right and committing to smashing barriers around social conditions that affect our youth and communities in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.
WE RISE is a project of the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and its WHY WE RISE campaign. The pop-up will be open through May 28th and will feature over 50-hours of creative programming and workshops with some of the biggest names in pop culture, activism, sports and art along with other performances and panels.
