Inside The Claudia Li Fall/Winter 2018 Collection During NYFW
Holding onto hope and fierce determination carried Claudia Li whilst creating the Fall/Winter 2018 collection. Perseverance against all odds has never felt more relevant to the designer, and is a theme that deeply resonated with her during the research for the collection and stumbling across the Turkish fairytale, The Silent Princess.
Radiant fabrics and bright colors juxtapose shearling and heavy wool pieces. Outerwear, tops and dresses in custom plaid over houndstooth wool, original jacquards and woodland scene on sequin prints are accented by statement Swarovski rhinestone buttons.
Suiting takes on a modern twist in bold cactus green and birds eye wool jackets and pants while voluminous double pleated skirts featuring sequins and metallic weaves add a whimsical element to the collection. Oversized shawl collars are seen on coats, jackets and dresses.
Claudia Li introduces two new shoe styles for Fall including a bootie and a pump featuring the designer’s signature oversized tab. The ‘Kete’ bag from Spring/Summer is reinvented, featuring a solid leather rectangular shape available in black and forest green as well as larger style with Mongolian curly shearling trim.
