Five Food Fests, Event Expos & All-Star Performances Happening Next Month

--

The fall is my favorite time of year. The leaves, the clothing, the cooler weather, all of the food events ever. The lower temperatures and bundled-up bodies seem to encourage obscene consumption levels of all-things pumpkin, apple, and cider — and I’m almost positive I contribute to more than 60% of those levels (after all, it is my birthday season.)

So fall is awesome, but fall in NYC is the best. Anyone you ask will be attending a different food-related event, be it a festival, an annual conference, a one-night-only restaurant event, or a weeklong list of activities revolving around all things culinary. Don’t know where to begin to look, or what to even search for in that Google bar? Look no further, because your October round up is all right here.

Taste of the Upper West Side

Taste of the Upper West Side (presented by American Airlines® and Mastercard®) will return October 1–2 with over 70 chefs participating. Tickets for Grillin’ in the City and Best of the West presented by Park West Village are on sale now. This annual uptown fest curated by Agency 21 benefits the The Columbus Avenue Business Improvement District.

The Bacon and Beer Classic

The Bacon and Beer Classic will head to The Lot (at 107 Morgan Street) in Jersey City on October 9th. The event is ditching sample sizes this year and going straight to full course meals with decadent dishes like Pork Belly Banh Mi and Chocolate Bacon Cupcakes on the menu. That’s in addition to 50+ craft beers to sample to toast and celebrate Oktoberfest with.

Event Planner Expo

Planning a party of your own this year or next? The 9th Annual Event Planner Expo presented by EMRG Media returns from October 12th to the 14th. The expo will have a star-studded lineup of speakers including Shark Tank star and Celebrity Event Planner Colin Cowie. Events will take place at the Metropolitan Pavilion, 92Y, SPIN and Nebula Nightclub.

Taste of the Seaport

Downtown’s premier food festival, Taste of the Seaport, will return for the 11th year on October 16th at Pier 16 and 17 in the Seaport District. Over 30 of the best restaurants in Lower Manhattan will come together at Taste of the Seaport to highlight one of the city’s fastest growing neighborhoods and its vibrant restaurant scene. Food lovers are invited to explore a variety of culinary options that the Seaport and Financial District has to offer with delicious dishes available to purchase from Eataly Downtown, Brooklyn Chop House, Industry Kitchen, Watermark Bar, Beatnic, Fresh Salt, Stout FiDi, Route 66 Smokehouse and Mac Daddy’s to name a few.

The New York Expo Center

Get tickets to see the long-awaited New York City return of Tiësto, who will kick off Halloween weekend with a FEARHOUSE NYC headlining show at The New York Expo Center (1110 Oak Point Ave.) in the Bronx on Friday, October 29th. The Chainsmokers will headline a Halloween weekend rave the following night with Surf Mesa, Ship Wrek and Zack Bia on Saturday, October 30th. Tickets for Tiësto are on sale at https://arep.co/p/tiesto-fearhouse and on tickets for The Chainsmokers at https://arep.co/p/the-chainsmokers-ny-expo-center-1
