Emerging Artist Darius Frank Announces First Solo Exhibit At SCOPE Miami Beach
With Art Basel quickly approaching, there are so many upcoming exhibits to look out for, but we wanted to highlight DC-based artist Darius Frank, who will be unveiling his first-ever solo exhibit at SCOPE Miami Beach this December.
Following his groundbreaking win at last year’s 7th Annual Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series Competition, Darius will debut his multi-media exhibit “Unfinished Conversations” during the most renowned contemporary art fair this winter. In a series of filmed conversations — focused on uncovering personal and intimate details of his subjects — Darius’ exhibit sheds light on the shared triumphs, worries, and realizations from members of his community at all different stages in their lives.
As you may know, the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series is a nationwide search for the next big names in visual arts with a focus on fostering the talents of undiscovered multicultural artists.
Each year, a handful of finalists are selected from thousands of online submissions and local gallery events to showcase their works in front of the world’s top art critics and buyers during Art Basel Miami at the SCOPE MIAMI BEACH Art Show.
For the first time this year, the grand prize winner of the national finale will have the opportunity to collaborate with Artsy — the innovative global platform for discovering and collecting art — on a large-scale public art installation next spring.
