Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day With These Luck of The Irish Cocktails
The one holiday that allows anyone to be Irish for a day is nearly here, and if a traditional boiled dinner of cabbage and corned beef is not quite your speed, there are plenty of other ways to pay respect to the Emerald Isle. St. Patrick’s Day is one of the biggest parties of the year.
The celebration is a tradition for many of us, whether we have a drop of Irish blood or not. While celebrations will be different this year, that doesn’t mean that you will not be able to toast the day away! If you’re joining in the fun, you will definitely need a few great drinks for the occasion whether a small fathering or virtual get-together.
From green beer to cocktails featuring Irish whiskey and other lucky spirits, there’s a fun and tasty recipe to fit every taste. Mix one of these up and start spreading the Irish cheer — Erin go Bragh!
St. Patrick’s Day Cocktails
1 oz Smirnoff №21 Vodka
.5 oz blue Curacao
3 oz pineapple juice
1 oz club soda
Pineapple Slice and umbrella
St. Patrick’s Sour Apple
3 ounces Barefoot Bubbly Extra Dry
1 ounce Sour Apple Schnapps
1 ounce White Cranberry Juice
1/4 ounce Simple Syrup
Sugar for rim
Green apple slices
Rim cocktail glass with lemon wedge.
Dip rim in sugar and set aside.
Place sour apple schnapps, white cranberry juice and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake to chill.
Strain into glass and top with Barefoot Bubbly Extra Dry.
Garnish with apple slices
The Diplomático Lucky to be Stirred Not Shaken
1.5 oz Diplomático Mantuano
1 oz apple juice
1 oz sugar syrup
2 dashes orange bitters
Add all ingredients together in a rocks glass, stir and serve.
Jameson Ginger & Lime
1 part Jameson
2 parts Ginger Ale
1 lime wedge
Fill a highball glass with ice, add Jameson over ice. Pour ginger ale into the glass to fill. Stir briefly to mix. Take a large wedge of lime, squeeze and drop into glass.
Absolut Green Goddess Gimlet
2 Parts Absolut Vodka
3/4 Parts Simple Syrup
3/4 Parts Lime
3 Cucumber Slices
3 Mint Leaves
1 Slice Green Apple
Build cocktail in blender. Blend 15 seconds. Fine strain in shaking tin. Shake & strain in a coupe. Garnish with lime wedge.
2 oz / 60 ml Belvedere Vodka
2 slices Avocado
.5 oz / 15 ml Coconut Milk
.75 oz / 20 ml Fresh Lemon Juice
.25 oz / 7 ml Honey Syrup
.5 oz / 15 ml Fresh Pineapple Juice
Coconut Chips & Chili Flakes
Build in shaker. Shake with ice and fine strain into coupe cocktail glass. Garnish with coconut chips and chili flakes.
2 oz / 60 ml Belvedere Vodka or Belvedere Ginger Zest
.5 oz / 15 g Curly Kale
.5 oz / 15 ml Fresh Lemon Juice
.5 oz / 15 g Ginger
10 oz / 280 g Cucumber
2 oz / 55 g Celery Stalks
Dry Kale (optional)
Place all ingredients into a juice maker and mix. Then place into shaker and shake. Fine strain into rocks glass. Garnish with dry kale.
2 oz / 60 ml Belvedere Vodka
.75 oz / 20 ml Honey Syrup
.75 oz / 20 ml Fresh Lemon Juice
2 oz / 60 ml Matcha Tea
Top with Soda Water or Natural Ginger Beer
Shake all ingredients and strain into highball glass over fresh ice and garnish with ginger slice.
2 parts redbreast 12YO
4 parts club Soda
1 highball glass
Place, ice into highball glass add whiskey and stir with a cocktail spoon. Pour club soda on top, stir again. Take the orange and use a Y peeler to create the garnish. Rim the oils of the orange peel around the glass and place inside the glass.
Proper Irish Coffee
2 oz Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey
4 oz hot coffee
.75 oz simple syrup
2–3 oz heavy cream
In a shaker or jar, shake or whip heavy cream until slightly thickened (not completely stiff). In a mug, add Proper No. Twelve Whiskey, hot coffee, and simple syrup. Stir. Carefully layer on top the thickened heavy cream until it covers the drink. Optional grating of nutmeg on top.

1.5 oz Ketel One Vodka
5 oz Pineapple juice
1 stalk of coriander leaves
1 stalk of mint leaves
3–4 Jalapeno slices
.24 oz apple cider vinegar
.15 oz agave syrup
Garnish with half moon & mint bouquet
Take a clean Highball Glass, add your ingredients over ice, finish with a ribbon, and serve!
Bulleit Green Light District
1 part Bulleit Rye
1 Part green crème de menthe
1 part crème de cacao
1 part heavy cream
5 mint leaves
Shake all the ingredients and serve up.
1.5 parts Writers’ Tears Copper Pot
¾ part sweet vermouth
1–2 dashes aromatic bitters
Shake with ice & strain into cocktail glass
Garnish with cherry
The Busker Paloma
1 oz The Busker
2 oz Pink Grapefruit Soda
Fresh Mint Sprig
Fill a highball glass with ice, pour The Busker Irish Whiskey and top up with Pink Grapefruit Soda. Stir and garnish with Fresh Mint sprig.
Roe & Co Irish Coffee
40ml Roe & Co
60ml freshly brewed americano coffee
10ml porter syrup/sugar syrup
15ml fresh lightly whipped cream
grated nutmeg & 3 coffee beans
Heat the Irish coffee glass with boiling water.
Once heated empty the water out and add 60ml of freshly brewed hot coffee and in the syrup.
Pour in 40ml of Roe & Co and layer lightly whipped fresh cream on top.
Garnish with 3 coffee beans and a light dusting of grated nutmeg.
The Spice Market
1 oz. Vanilla Chai tea
1 oz. Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin
½ oz. Apricot Liqueur
1 bar spoon of Orgeat Syrup
1 bar spoon of Spice syrup
Fill a shaker with ice and add all the ingredients. Shake really well until the shaker is icy. Double strain into a highball and garnish with a hollowed out passionfruit.
The Golden Dram
2 oz ABERFELDY 12 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
½ oz Local Honey Syrup (honey syrup = 1 part honey, 1 part water)
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
2 dashes Orange Bitters
Add the honey syrup, bitters and ABERFELDY 12 Years Old to a mixing glass, then add ice and stir to dilute (~30 seconds). Pour into rocks glass and add block ice, then garnish with an orange twist expressing the oils over the drink.
1 parts EFFEN® Cucumber Vodka
1 splash of Lime Juice
2 parts Lemon Lime Soda
Tajin® Clasico seasoning
Rim a glass with Tajin® Clasico seasoning. Build over fresh ice, garnish with a cucumber wheel.
TULLAMORE D.E.W. IRISH COFFEE
1 ½ parts Tullamore D.E.W. Original
1 ½ parts strongly brewed coffee (Recommended: any premium dark roast)
½ part sugar (Recommended: Demerara Sugar)
Lightly whipped heavy cream
Cinnamon or nutmeg
Preheat a clear-stemmed glass with very hot water. Add the sugar and brewed coffee and stir well. Once sugar has melted, stir in the Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey. Gently whip the heavy cream by shaking it in a protein shaker with a blender ball — you want a still somewhat loose, not stiff consistency. Pour the cream over the back of a hot teaspoon to top the drink (and prevent cream from penetrating the top of the drink). Finally, garnish with grated nutmeg or cinnamon for spicy finish.
1/4 oz. Cardamom and Clove Simple Syrup
4 dashes Cardamom Bitters
Combine all ingredients into a shaker over ice
Shake and strain over a large ice cube in a rocks glass
The Irish Aitall
4 sprigs of thyme, leaves only
2 oz Jose Cuervo Tradicional Añejo
3 ⁄4 oz caraway-fennel simple syrup
Splash of fresh grapefruit juice
Muddle the thyme. Add the Cuervo Tradicional Añejo and simple syrup and fill shaker with ice. Shake well. Strain into a glass filled with ice. Top with soda water and squeeze of grapefruit juice. Garnish with thyme sprigs and dehydrated grapefruit.
Dream In Color
1.5 parts Redemption Rye
.25 parts Plantation OFTD
.5 Parts Banana Liqueur
3 dashes Lavender bitters
Stir all ingredients
Strain over large ice-cube
Garnish with a lavender bud or edible flower
St. Patrick’s Day Riesling Sangria
1 bottle of Chateau Ste. Michelle Columbia Valley Riesling
1 cup white cranberry juice
1/2 granny Smith apple, thinly sliced
2 cups small diced honey dew melon
2 Kiwi, skinned and thinly sliced
1 ½ cups green grapes, cut in ½
6 slices of lime
1 bunch of fresh mint
Put the fruit and a couple of sprigs of mint in a large glass pitcher. Pour the Riesling and white cranberry juice over it, cover and place in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours or overnight. When ready to serve, taste and adjust the sweetness if needed and add a squeeze of fresh lime. Place some of the fruit in each glass, top with the sangria and a sprig of mint to serve.
