Bruce Springsteen, Jim Gaffigan and more Honor U.S. Veterans at MSG, Raising over $5.4M
Last night, the 15th annual New York Comedy Festival kicked off with the 12th annual Stand Up for Heroes Event, honoring post-9/11 veterans and their families through the Bob Woodruff Foundation, at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden.
Raising over $5.4 million, celebrities and notables including actress Mariska Hargitay and Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, joined veterans to enjoy a night of star-studded performances from Jimmy Carr, Eric Church, Jim Gaffigan, Seth Meyers, Bruce Springsteen, and Jon Stewart. The evening ended with two duets — first with Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa, and then a surprise performance by Springsteen and Eric Church.
Since its inception in 2007, the Stand Up for Heroes benefit, working alongside the New York Comedy Festival, has now raised more than $50 million to create long-lasting positive outcomes for our nation’s wounded, ill, and injured veterans, service members and their families.
